On Saturday, May 9, 12:00-5:00 PM the guild will be supporting Johnson county’s Ensor Park & Museum by putting on an outdoor quilt display.

Here’s how you can help. Volunteer a quilt for a fun day out in the fresh air. In honor of the upcoming 250 the anniversary of the founding of the United States, we’d like to hang red, white and blue quilts. They don’t have to be “patriotic” but certainly could be! We anticipate hanging 20-25 quilts.

Quilt pickup dates: Tuesday, April 14 at the guild meeting and if more quilts are needed Saturday 10:00-11:30 AM, May 2 in the parking lot of the church (guild meeting site). If you bring a quilt, please ensure it has a label (sewn in or pinned on).

Quilts will be returned Tuesday, May 12 at the guild meeting or by special arrangement with the guild organizers.

Consider volunteering a few hours of your time on-site the day of the event. Setup will begin at 11:00 AM and take down/packing around 5:00 PM. You don’t have to stay for the whole event, but you’d certainly be welcome to do so.

Bring a lawn chair, hat, sunglasses, sun block and some hand sewing if you like. This is a great opportunity to let the public know more about quilting and the guild.

Guild Organizers: Sherri Critchfield, Rachel Rohrer and Melissa Toburen

The event is free, has museum tours, live music, food truck and other fun activities.
